At the end of the previous year we finished the second part of the study conducted on behalf of the Marshal's Office of the Voivodeship of Małopolska. The study concerned the characteristics of 3 out of 7 areas set out by intelligent specialisation of the region and recognition of the expectation provided by the business entities from these areas in terms of support processed by the voivodeship of Małopolska for the financial perspective 2014-2020.
It is a part of the project „Regional Innovation System” [„Regionalny System Innowacji] conducted by the Marshal's Office of the Voivodeship of Małopolska thanks to which a network of connections and collaborations between research-developmental institutions, business environment institutions, local authorities and businessmen is being established.
The key areas for Małopolska regional specialisation are: life science, sustainable energy, information and communication technology (including multimedia), chemistry, metal and derivatives from non-metallic mineral products, electrotechnology and machine industry, creative and recreational industry.
Our study results show that entrepreneurs are willing to collaborate with universities and research centres. They, however, expect clear conditions for the collaboration in question. They would also like to have the institutions conducting the research/study in an agreement with economical environment, so they can be relatively quickly implemented. Therefore, Marshal's Office plays a big role in popularization and initiation of the collaboration between entrepreneurs and scientists.
On the 20th of November there was a meeting of the Innovation Council of Małopolska region in the headquarters of the Foundry Research Institute in Krakow, where we could present the initial findings.
