The Biostat development team is constantly enhancing the Medfile software for managing medical facilities. Recently, several useful artificial intelligence-based solutions have been introduced.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the healthcare services market by enabling automation of processes that previously required time and staff involvement. Thanks to AI, medical facilities can diagnose patients more quickly, optimize appointment schedules, and improve communication with patients. Tools like AI-integrated facility management programs also allow for better analysis of medical data and more accurate clinical decisions. As a result, efficiency increases, the number of errors decreases, and patients receive higher-quality care.
Biostat’s Research and Development Center has been developing the Medfile software for several years. Initially, it was a program for managing electronic medical records. Today, it is a comprehensive tool for managing medical facilities, already used by about 20,000 doctors across Poland.
Doctors, medical staff, and patients now have access to a range of AI-powered tools that support their daily work. These include:
Drug Assistant – a virtual medication assistant that supports doctors when issuing e-prescriptions. Based on entered data and previous behavior, the system suggests alternative or supplementary medications related to the initial selection. For example, if an antibiotic is chosen, the system may suggest a protective drug. This tool does not replace the doctor but assists in therapeutic decision-making.
Patient Assistant – a feature that uses AI to simplify the process of scheduling appointments. Through an intuitive chat interface, patients can describe their symptoms, and the system suggests the appropriate specialist and available appointment slots – both in-person and online. This eliminates the need for patients to search for doctors themselves, significantly improving access to healthcare.
AI Teleassistant – a highly practical tool supporting reception and registration staff using VoIP technology. The AI Teleassistant enables call billing downloads, conversation transcription with patients, and the creation of intelligent notes and summaries.
A new solution is currently in BETA testing: the doctor’s voice assistant.
The AI Doctor’s Assistant is set to revolutionize the way medical visits are documented. The system will allow for recording consultations, automatically converting them into text, and then generating visit notes and summaries.
Key information will be automatically assigned to the appropriate sections in the patient’s medical record, fully eliminating the need for manual data entry. Automated elements will include medical history, symptoms, test results, diagnoses (including ICD codes), treatments, and recommendations.
This solution will give doctors more time to focus on patients, without the burden of tedious documentation during each consultation.
